This is a broken down version of how St. Cloud Web Design and our clients work. It explains the process from begining to end to give you a better idea of how getting a web site custom designed and coded for you or your business works.
Well hopefully the quality of work shown in our portfolio leads you to contact us. From there we setup a time and a place for a no obligation meeting. This is to answer any questions you have and to get the general feel of what kind of web site you want. We can also answer questions about if getting a web site will help your business, or what benifits would come from it. Not sure about how you want it to look or what content you'll need? We'll use our years of experience to provide examples and suggestions; we are here to make you look professional and your web site will reflect that.
After the inital meeting and conceptual website is fleshed out our graphic designers will create a "mock up" image of how your website will look. Once the image is created, usually no more than one week, it will be sent to you for review- any changes you want will be done by the designer and again sent to you for review until you love it. This is done as an image because the actual coding of your web site will take longer than the conceptual image.
After you are satisfied with what we have come up with we sign the contract. At this stage the contract binds St. Cloud Web Design to fully code your web site (make the image into actual html). The contract can also cover the domain name(s) and hosting. The domain name is what your web site will be called- basically YourSite.com, .net, .org, or anything you would like. Hosting is when your html files are able to be served through a domain name, or are online. Either can be managed by yourself or St. Cloud Web Design, depending on your preference. An minimum initial fee will be required to register the domain name and hosting.
When your site is finished being coded it will need to be filled with content. This generally requires another meeting, or the info can be emailed. This is where we make the site come alive- we'll need either a general description or typed out version of the content for each page. As stated above; we will use our years of experience to help you look professional and communicate what you want potential visitors to know.
When the domain name is registered and the files are being served your web site is up and ready. But we'll still be here to provide support and changes to the web site as you need. As a trusted web master for over five years we do our best for our clients.
